Green Morning Smoothie

This quick to prepare morning smoothie gives a real energy boost from its various ingredients, especially the matcha.

Matcha is made from crushed whole green tea leaves and is known for amazing health benefits.  High in antioxidants, it also helps you to relax, is good for the immune system and can even help you to burn more calories. It contains more caffeine than regular tea so for this reason I use it in my smoothies when I feel like I need to kick start my day.


Serves 1


  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 2 cm piece of fresh ginger
  • 1 handful of spinach
  • 1 tablespoon of almond butter
  • 1 orange
  • 100 ml water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of matcha
  • 1 teaspoon of maple syrup


Peel the avocado and celery stalk and cut them into chunks.

Peel the ginger and chop it.

Squeeze the orange juice.

Then place all the ingredients into the blender and blend at a high speed until smooth.
